International experience shows us that the reasons for a change can come both from the inside and outside of the company. The most frequent causes of changes are as follows: competitive international environment, inner problems of the company, failure to satisfy growing demands of company’s customers etc. Moreover, the changes can be different too, from small alterations of the staff, company’s direction, change of plans etc. to merges, acquisitions etc.

In my opinion, the process of change itself is not as painful as its perception by company’s employees, executive members. One of the tasks of the managers here is to show his ability to influence the staff and to infect employees with positive attitude. From psychological point of view any change, whether it’s small or huge, is a stress. There is no way to avoid the stress that will surely influence everyone differently, but there are ways to prepare the staff for the changes and to make them think positively regarding the changes.

You’ll ask me, what are my propositions concerning the preparation of the staff for the changes. I’ll answer that firstly, since the employees of the company are its main value since they guarantee company’s efficient activity, they should be informed beforehand on the need for change. Secondly, I think it’s rather effective to hold a questionnaire among the employees and to ask them what they think about changes and if they can offer something. Such measures will prepare the staff, and its members will perceive and interpret the changes much easier.
